How do I use the online catalog?

The interactive product catalog at Select Appliance is very easy to use. Products are indexed by type of kitchen, category, and manufacturer.

  • To list products by type of kitchen, start by clicking on one of the tabs at the top of any page of this site.
  • Then, select a product category or manufacturer to narrow your search.
  • To see all the products in a particular category, start by returning to the home page, selecting the desired category from the list, and clicking Go.
  • To see all the products by a particular manufacturer, start by returning to the home page, selecting the desired manufacturer from the list, and clicking Go.
Note that all of these indexes are cross-referenced. For example, once you've found any single product, you can then look at other products in the same category or by the same manufacturer. Just start clicking, and you'll find the perfect appliances and accessories in no time!

I have a question about one of the products in the catalog.

We try to be as complete as possible when it comes to item descriptions, but even the most complete descriptions and the best pictures can't answer everyone's questions. I can't find the product I'm looking for.

If you've been unable to find what you're looking for in our catalog, try our terrific customized search tool! Just type in the name or model number of a product, a vague description, or even a descriptive keyword, and if it's in our catalog, you'll see it in front of you before you know it. The search is also available at the top-left of every page on this site -- just type a word or two and press Enter.

If you still can't find something, we may be able to special order it for you -- and give you a great price. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

What if there's no picture for the product I want?

Sometimes it may be hard to obtain a good picture of a specific product or accessory. If there's no picture of a product you're interested in, or you just need more detail (such as measurements or available colors), feel free to ask us!

How do I purchase something?

Once you've found a product you wish to buy, simply click the Add to Cart button on the right of the page. The product will then be added to your virtual shopping cart, which works very much like a real shopping cart. Once you've filled your cart with all the products you wish to purchase in a session, just click Check out, and follow the instructions on-screen. The Check out button is on your shopping cart page, which is shown whenever you've added another product. You can always get back to the shopping cart by clicking on the shopping cart icon on the left side of any page at this site.

Is it safe to use my credit card on this site?

Placing an order on our website is at least as safe as at your local grocery store, if not more so. We use the latest technology to guarantee that your credit card information is transmitted safely and securely to our salespeople. And we will never share your personal information with any other organization; see our Privacy Statement for more information.

Note that under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $5000 of fraudulent charges. Many banks will not even charge you a single cent of unauthorized charges; contact your credit card issuer for details.

If you still don't feel safe using your credit card online, you can always pay by check, money order, cashier's check, or even send us your credit card information over fax. After you've added one or more products to your shopping cart, just click Check out, and you will be given complete instructions for payment, regardless of how you wish to pay. Absolutely. If you don't feel comfortable using your credit card on our website, or if it simply isn't convenient for you, we gladly accept checks, money orders, and cashier's checks.

Why can't I get the shopping cart to work?

In order for the shopping cart to work, a feature called Cookies must not be disabled in your browser. The cookies feature allows our online store to remember you and keep track of the items in your shopping cart. Enabling cookies on your browser will not compromise your security or privacy - see our privacy policy for more information. Use your browser's Help feature for instructions to enable cookies.

If you still can't get the shopping cart to work, or just don't feel comfortable using it, you can always place your order by mail, fax, or postal mail.

Why do I have to log in every time I visit Select Appliance?

Make sure cookies are properly enabled in your browser. If cookies are enabled, your cookie file may be corrupted; check the documentation that comes with your browser to resolve this problem.

What does 'Quantity per case' mean?

Some products come pre-packaged in multiples from the manufacturer. These "value-pack" items are a great value, and are especially convenient if you're building a kitchen, or just want to have an extra to give as a gift.

If a product has a Quantity per case of 2, for example, it means that this product can only be ordered in multiples of 2. So, when you add this item to your cart, 2 items will be added; this, of course, means that this product is not available in a quantity of 1 or 3.

Note that prices and weights displayed are for the individual items, rather than the value-pack case.

Just go to the Order Status page, and select an order to see the details of the order, as well as the status.

I know I have filled a shopping cart - how do I get it back?

Our shopping cart system uses a feature of your browser called "cookies." If you keep loosing your shopping cart, see Why can't I get the shopping cart to work?

If you filled your shopping cart on a different computer than the one you're using now, you can get it back by logging in. All you need is the email address and password you entered the first time you used the cart.

I see someone else's shopping cart - how do I start my own?

If the computer you're on is used by more than one person, someone else may've filled a shopping cart at Select Appliance. You'll want to log in for yourself so you can fill your own cart. This will leave the other person's cart in-tact, so that he or she can then retrieve it next time.

Help! I've forgotten my password!

If you've forgotten your password, just go to the log in page. Enter your email address in the first field, and leave the password field blank. Click Continue, and your password will be emailed to you.

Note that you'll need to enter the same email address you entered when you first created an account. If your email address has changed, just create a new account by going to the log in page and using the If you've never used our shopping cart before form.
